Trading Standards Operation

                                Good Evening

                                   Officers from Rossendale Neighbourhood Policing Team conducted a joint operation with Lancashire Trading Standards Officers to target the sale of Illegal and Illicit Tobacco, cigarettes and vape/E-cigarette products.

                                   The Operation involved the inspection of numerous shops throughout Rossendale Valley, after information received from the community. Shops found to be in possession of counterfeit, Illegal and Illicit Tobacco, cigarettes and vapes/E-cigarette products, with the intention to sell such products will be prosecuted at a later date by Trading Standards, and all illegal and illicit stock was seized.  

                                   The Neighbourhood Policing Team will then look to use Civil Order powers with a view to eventually applying to Court for a Closure Order on the premises responsible.
